The FBI National Academy Associates (NAA) Youth Leadership Program is an intense week-long training event for high school students at the FBI Academy each summer. The focus of the program is on leadership and personal development and involves classroom study, physical challenges, guest lectures, and leadership experiences. As a sister organization to the NAA, the Society is allocated ONE participant slot, which we award to the child or grandchild of a current Society member. Candidates do not have to be related to a National Academy Associate graduate to be considered.

The selection process is highly competitive. Interested candidates should possess a desire to gain knowledge of the American system of criminal justice, as well as ethics, leadership skills and personal development and meet the following qualifications:

  • Age 14, 15, or 16 at the start of the YLP session: Rising Sophomores and Juniors;
  • Must have an equivalent of a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher on an unweighted 4.0 grading scale;
  • Must have a satisfactory school attendance and citizenship record;
  • Must be physically capable of participating in ALL elements of the YLP; and
  • Must have health insurance.

You may upload an unofficial transcript via the online portal, however must MAIL an official transcript from the school to the Foundation Office in order to qualify by February 1, 2024. Official academic transcripts must be mailed to: Former Agents of the FBI Foundation, 3717 Fettler Park Drive, Dumfries, VA 22025

Finalists will be required to complete an Oral Interview with the Society's Selection Committee. The final selected candidate will then be required to submit a Medical Release Form completed by a licensed physician and additional signed Waiver of Liability forms.
